2013 Tour – Finale – The proof

KittelTour4

Marcel Kittel had three performances in the 2013 Tour de France where he raised the question: Can someone beat Mark Cavendish, while in his prime, on the Champs? Kittel answered that question and gave irrefutable proof that he is as elite a sprinter as exists in the peloton. For the first time since 2008 someone has won other than Cavendish.

Chris Froome wins the overall title making it two in a row for Team Sky. Nairo Quintana takes 2nd place on the podium, the white jersey and the climbers jersey, and Joaquim Rodriguez the third placing overall. Peter Sagan, who was fourth in the sprint today easily claimed his second green jersey. The team award goes to Saxo Bank.
