2013 Giro – Stage 20 Cima Coppi – Eroica

NibaliGiro2

Vincenzo Nibali won his second consecutive stage of the 2013 Giro after the cancellation of stage 19 and major modifications to stage 20 due to weather. Today however, even with the changes, the riders suffered through an excruciating ascent of the 2304m Tre Cime di Lavaredo climb that the Giro Organizers were hell bent with finishing on.

Behind Nibali it was chaos and a huge battle for the lower steps of the podium and secondary jerseys. Rigoberto Uran was able to overtake Cadel Evans for second place. Carlos Betancur who rode the ascent with his compatriot took the white jersey from Rafal Majka. There’s almost too much to say about this stage, and what was the Cima Coppi for the 2013 Giro. I’ll let the images do the talking.
