Vuelta a España – Stage 19 – Gilbert heating up, wins second.

Watch out for Philippe Gilbert as the World Championships looms, as he won his second stage of the Vuelta. This stage, not entirely dissimilar to the stage in Barcelona, Gilbert was able to sprint up the slight uphill finish and hold off the charging Spaniards of Valverde, Moreno and Rodriguez. Normally, you wouldn’t see the men in second and third in the overall getting too involved in a stage like this but they have their own battle for the Green Jersey going on in which Valverde grabbed 8 points out of Rodriguez today with the intermediate sprint and the second place on the day.

There are many tight races for overall, mountain and green jersey which will be settled tomorrow on the climb to Bola del Mundo. Don’t miss it!
