Vuelta a España – Stage 13 – Cummings gets well deserved win from break

Steve Cummings, a guy who deserved a little luck after a tough season, has won the 12th stage of the Vuelta a España for his biggest win of his career. The break was were all the action was today, and in that strong break were Cummings, Flecha, Meyer, Gerdemann, De Gendt, Viviani, Clarke and Astarloa. The peloton tried to reel them in but left it too late as the strong men in front were working together well. Juan Antonio Flecha was the first to attack the group with about 5km to go and Cummings brought him back with the others being lead by Meyer across to the duo. Then with 2km to go, it was Cummings himself who went up the right side of the road with only Flecha and Meyer able to respond. The two in pursuit worked well together, but Cummings, from his background in pursuit was too strong for the tired duo and he held on for the win.
