Vuelta a España – Stage 8 – Valverde outsprints J-Rod and Bert, Froome loses time

Alejandro Valverde has outkicked Joaquim Rodriguez as the two sprinted side-by-side to overcome Alberto Contador in the final 25m of today’s stage. Chris Froome who was the most active up the final climb, didn’t have enough to respond to a last km attack by Contador, and then couldn’t respond to Valverde and J-Rod finishing 14 seconds behind. (I’d like to write more, but I can’t cause I’ve gotta go ride to the ferry). Props to Cam Meyer for the gusty break!
