Vuelta a España – Stage 5 – Degenkolb wins the Sprint Circuit

John Degenkolb has won the sprint on a very relaxed day on large 21km rectangular circuit around Logroño. The pace was very pedestrian until the final bell lap when the riders really whipped up the pace. Most guys seemed to have a ton of energy as the break was only one man, so once things got heated the run in to the final km was fast and chaotic. Daniele Bennati was launched perfectly to the line with Degenkolb in tow, but the Argos-Shimano rider had the extra burst at the line for the win.
