Tour de France – Stage 4 – Greipel wins ahead of crash

Andre Greipel has won the 4th stage of the Tour de France staying ahead of a massive crash as the Lotto-Belisol team was in a perfect position for the final run-in to the line. Mark Cavendish went down in the crash and Mark Renshaw was held up as well eliminating two of the faster finishers from the finale. However, the Lotto train was spot on form with Greg Henderson launching Andre within the last 150m and at that point, even a prefectly positioned Alessandro Petacchi couldn’t come around the Gorilla.

Tomorrow, we’ve got another sprint stage for those who missed out today. Cavendish will be a little angry about today and he’s rapidly losing ground to Peter Sagan for the Green jersey, so expect Cav to come out firing.
