Critérium du Dauphiné – Stage 2 – Moreno wins uphill sprint

Daniel Moreno (KAT) is familiar with doing this kind of effort 1km out from the finish to set up Joaquim Rodriguez, but today, he got to do the uphill sprint for himself and he nailed it riding away from the group and taking the win. It was an exciting day of racing with an undulating stage plenty of breaks and KOM points hunting, but in the end it was a group of the elite riders contending the sprint and Moreno was top of the class.

No change in the overall and it was good to see Sammy Sanchez cross the line again today. He was well back as he’s in considerable pain, but word is nothing is broken. Sanchez just needs to finish the race and get the racing kilometers in.
