Tour de France – Stage 13 – Thor Smash Aubisque

Thor Hushovd is trying to climb his way back into the Green jersey competition. Hushovd attacked the peloton knowing the long, flat run into the finish was ideal for him to take the win. Jeremy Roy crossed Aubisque first with David Moncoutie just behind and Hushovd in third position. For Roy, although the end was a bitter pill, he takes the polka dot jersey from Samuel Sanchez.

The peloton was put in a lazy pace today after yesterday’s tough stage in the mountains, which was probably a very welcome pace for Sammy Sanchez. The yellow jersey group finished 7’37” behind Hushovd and only Gilbert, who attacked on the flats made any impression moving up to 9th in the GC.
