Tour de Suisse – Stage 7 – De Gendt, De-gain

Thomas De Gendt is having a heck of a season with another win to his credit beating Andy Schleck of all people to the line on the very hilly 7th stage of the Tour de Suisse. I’m only catching up to the race, as we’ve been without internet for nearly a week and I haven’t been able to keep updating. Damiano Cunego preserved his lead over his main rivals with a gutsy effort today, and Laurens Ten Dam appears to have lost the KOM jersey to Andy, while he expectedly lost time against the big name riders. Today was the final mountain stage and the last opportunity for Cunego to gain time with Sunday’s Time trial looming large, a discipline the Italian has struggle with in the past.
