2011 Paris-Nice – Stage 5 – Kloden surprises

Paris-Nice
Andreas Kloden has won the fifith stage of the Paris-Nice, just ahead of Samuel Sanchez and Matteo Carrera in a final sprint amongst the eight lead riders of the day. Today was the first day of serious climbing in the Paris-Nice and it broke the peloton to pieces, re-ordering the GC classification and ahead of tomorrows time trial it should reveal the serious contenders for the overall if we haven’t seen them show already.

In Italy, Tyler Farrar (Garmin) has won the mass sprint over Alessandro Petacchi (Lampre) to take both the stage and the overall race lead.
