2011 Tour de France route announced

Looks harder in the mountains and more mountainous overall. Hopefully, all the world’s best climbers are in attendance. My only complaint, as is often the case with the TdF, are the nearly 11 flat stages to begin the race. If you’re not into the green jersey competition, you may be tuning out the first week and a half.

UPDATE: New rules for the green jersey as well. Gone are the numerous (usually 3) intermediate sprints for 3,2 or 1 point(s). Instead it’s one intermediate sprint worth a maximum 20 points! and awarding 15 riders deep. How will this change the breakaways? Will fewer sprinters be challenging for the green jersey now that a mountain stage could shell out a maximum 80pts? Does this mean the majority of sprinters drop out as soon as we hit the Pyrenees with 7 of the final ten stages being monster mountain stages?
