What a great race yesterday and thank you to everyone who came out and made it such a great event at Giancarlo’s cafe. Robert Gesink and Ryder Hesjedal sure put on a show and kept the fans entertained in both Friday’s Québec GP and Sunday’s Montréal GP. It will certainly be tough to forget the pain mask Gesink wore while he was on the rivet hammering home to the win yesterday. Speaking of on the rivet, a huge thank you to our sponsors of the event, firstly Giancarlo’s cafe for being our wonderful hosts. Giancarlo’s has happily partnered with us to put on this event’s two races in Québec and Montréal, as well as the Paris-Roubaix, the Ronde, Liege-Bastogne-Liege and the Milan-San Remo. Also, massive thanks to the aforementioned OnTheRivet for donating that excellent Race Face jacket, and to Mighty Riders for hooking us up with two prizes – the SKS mini pump and LED f/r light set.
Winners in yesterday’s event:
Hyuma – with Robert Gesink – won a custom Cima Coppi merino wool jersey
Ryan – with Peter Sagan – won the RaceFace jacket
Joe – with Ryder Hesjedal – won the SKS mini pump
Pascale – with 6th* place Samuel Sanchez – won the LED f/r light set.
*I overlooked 4th place Haimar Zubeldia and didn’t make a chip for him, thinking he had no chance to win (Sorry Haimar, my bad.) and 5th place Maxime Monfort was 1 of 11 unselected chips remaining in the grab bag.
Our fund-raising from this event brought in $275!, awesome guys thanks so much, to bring the total for Team Cima Coppi to $960. We’re still a little short of our goal, and there is just 5 days remaining until the event, so dig out that change in your pockets and put it toward funding for Multiple Sclerosis research.
Remember, you too can still win! Pledges of $50 or more receive a free Cima Coppi Wool cycling cap (msrp $35), and $200 or more a free Cima Coppi Merino cycling jersey (msrp $110). So get those pledges in today and make a meaningful difference in someone’s life living with MS!
