2010 Vuelta España – Stage 14 – Joaquin Rising

Tragedy struck the Euskaltel team today in the Vuelta España as a brief lapse by race leader Igor Anton caused a crash with teammate Egoi Martinez which forced both riders out of the race. Anton, it is reported, suffered a broken collarbone in the crash which also removed Marzio Bruseghin from the top ten, as he finished 17 minutes behind.

Joaquin Rodriguez went on to win the stage after catching Vincenzo Nibali, who had himself, chased down Mosquera. With the long TT approaching it’s starting to look like a three horse race with Nibali holding down a significant advantage.
