Tour de Suisse – Stage 8

Rui Faria da Costa has won the 8th stage of the Tour de Suisse. The Portuguese rider for the Caisse D’Epargne team broke free from his breakaway companions within the final 10km and rode solo to victory. Jose Rojas Gil sprinted in for second place giving the Caisse D’Epargne team a one-two finish. In an unusually vocal display of defiance and comradery, Faria da Costa dedicated his victory to recently suspended Alejandro Valverde.
