Critérium du Dauphiné Update

Take a deep breath Janez. Today marked the finish of the 3rd stage of the week long Critérium du Dauphiné, and at the same time may have marked the competitive finish of the race. Slovenian champ Janez Brajkovic won the tortuously long 49km time trial separating himself from the other main contenders by nearly a minute. Alberto Contador, who was wearing the yellow jersey on the strength of the winning prologue time, finished in a very respectable, but not dominant, 6th place. Contador is now 1’41” down to Brajkovic with 4 mountain stages remaining, which is a deficit Alberto could likely overcome if he desired, but with the Tour on the horizon, I wouldn’t expect it.
