2010 Fleche-Wallone Results

Cadel Evans won the Fleche-Wallone with the appropriately timed late surge to the line. Joaquin Rodriguez also timed his push perfectly but couldn’t catch Evans and finished second. Alberto Contador rounded out the podium and made his move a little early, but necessarily, as he tried to mark Igor Anton who made an attack around the 500m mark that may have stuck. For Contador, it’s a good result in his first Fleche-Wallone, but as Evans said at the end, you have to wait to attack as moves from more than 300m out rarely flourish on the steep slopes of the Muur.
