That sneaky little devil. In perfect Garzelli style, Stefano grabbed third place in both intermediate sprints to make up the 2 seconds he trailed to Michele Scarponi to win the Tirreno-Adriatico. Edvald Boasson Hagen won the final sprint of the seventh and final stage. In the flat final stage, Scarponi’s lead looked all but written in the books, but he must have forgotten about Garzelli, a man who seems to never give up on anything and always gets you at the line.

The final sprint was not without it’s drama as well, as Mark Cavendish, a man seeming to be searching for his form after a dental problem delayed training, crashed on the corner into the final sprint. With no wins, a crash and numerous times being dropped on climbs his bid to repeat at the Milan – San Remo seems unlikely.
For Edvald Boasson Hagen this is his fourth win already! this season and the sixth? for Team Sky. If Edvald had not already arrived last year with his great season, he certainly has now.
